Durgesh Pandey

Durgesh Pandey helps enterprises turn technology into measurable business value. His work spans four connected disciplines: digital transformation advisory, technology governance, AI and enterprise solutions architecture, and SAP S/4HANA RAP product management.

Since December 2020 he has led a technology organisation of 37 professionals at DJT Corporation, covering enterprise architecture, digital transformation, cybersecurity, AI adoption, and technology governance across NBFC, retail, and B2B wholesale businesses.

His governance work spans DPDP compliance, ISO 27001, and AI governance frameworks built so that trust functions as an enabler rather than a checkbox. On the transformation side, he has integrated a Loan Management System with banking interfaces to automate NBFC loan disbursement while strengthening governance controls, and led SAP financial transformation covering Profit Centre Accounting and Segment Reporting. His SAP practice centres on Clean Core, the RESTful Application Programming Model, and BTP extensibility, keeping S/4HANA landscapes upgrade-safe and cloud-ready. Earlier in his career he worked on global enterprise transformation programmes, including at Mercedes-Benz India.

His underlying argument is that most technology leaders manage systems while enterprise technology leaders shape business capability, and that the difference is accountability. Governance responsibility has to be balanced against growth targets, and impact has to be measured in business outcomes, risk reduction, and shareholder value rather than in systems shipped or features delivered.

An M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna anchors the engineering-plus-economics lens that runs through his advisory work and his writing, and through the question he returns to most often: who owns an AI initiative's business outcome, and who is accountable for proving it to the board.

He is based in Noida and writes here about enterprise AI, technology governance, and SAP modernisation.
